In today’s life every one try to reduce the electricity bills as lighting consumes nearly 10 to 15 percent of our household budget. If we manage to bring it down we can save our hard earned money and channelize to other useful areas. One of the best ways to bring down the lightning bill is using the energy saving lighting. Traditional ways of lighting waste energy and money by using 90 percent of electricity to produce heat instead of light. There are three main types of energy efficient bulbs Halogen incandescent, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and Light emitting diodes (LEDs). Timers and motion sensors saves you even more money by reducing the amount of time lights are on but not being used.
In case of Indoor lighting we can use all three options. Initially they would cost more than that traditional incandescent and bulbs but during the lifetime it would save money as they consume less energy. Halogen incandescent lights bulbs are the most energy efficient bulbs and incandescent as they last up to three times longer than traditional bulbs. Halogen incandescent comes in various shapes and colors and can also be used in dimmers even.
CFL bulbs use about 75 percent less energy and last up to 10 times longer and use about one- fourth the energy than the traditional incandescent. CFLs bulbs offer same brightness and colors as traditional ones. CFLs contain a very small amount of mercury so if broken special care should be taken and CFLs should be recycled at the end of their lifespan.
LEDs are a very new kind of light. You should use Energy star qualified LEDs lights for the highest quality and energy savings. LEDs bulbs have the potential to last for 22 years and save 75 percent or more in energy costs. LED bulbs are rapidly expanding in households use as they last up to 25 times longer than the traditional incandescent bulbs. Now LED comes in variety of colors, some bulbs offer convenient features like daylight and motion sensors. Additionally LED bulbs are also available for desk lamps, Kitchen under cabinet and also for outdoor area lights.
Many of you even like outdoor lighting also. There are many energy savings products such as low voltage pathway lights and LED products through which you can decorate the outdoors. LED offers step lights, pathway lights and porch lights for outdoor use. Now a day’s solar powered lights are an efficient way to lighting garden path. Solar garden lights stores energy from the sun in daytime and turn up automatically at dusk.
In order to save energy, you all need to use energy saving bulbs and incandescent rather than traditional ones.
